Ford Pro expands 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty

The warranty expansion applies to additional commercial vehicles starting with the 2027 model year.

Ford Pro announced plans to expand its 5-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty to cover a broader range of commercial vehicles beginning with the 2027 model year.

The announcement was made by Ford Pro President Alicia Boler Davis during the company's Fleet Preview event in Las Vegas, and expanded coverage will apply to fleet-purchased versions of the 2027 Explorer, Maverick, Ranger, Mustang (excluding GTD), Bronco (excluding Raptor), Bronco Sport, Mustang Mach-E, Expedition, and E-Transit.

These vehicles will join Ford commercial products already covered under the warranty program, including 2022-and-newer F-150, Super Duty, Transit, F-53/F-59 stripped chassis, and E-Series models.

According to Ford Pro, the expanded warranty is intended to help fleets lower total cost of ownership by reducing exposure to unexpected powertrain repair expenses. The company also noted that the warranty remains with the vehicle if it is sold before expiration, a feature that could help support resale values.

To qualify, commercial customers must register for a Fleet Identification Number (FIN) and purchase eligible vehicles under a fleet sales designation.
