Optronics International’s Co27 DC-DC Battery Charger is a patent-pending intelligent charging system engineered to address chronic trailer battery failure caused by inadequate charging through standard trailer wiring. Installed in the trailer and connected through the existing 7-pin plug, the unit activates when it detects 13.2 volts or higher from the towing vehicle’s alternator. The Co27 delivers a software-driven, three-stage charging cycle of bulk, absorption, and float charging for lead-acid batteries and an optimized two-stage cycle for lithium-iron-phosphate batteries. The charger measures circuit resistance and reduces current draw to as low as 3.5 amps when it detects corroded connectors or undersized conductors, charging at its full 10-amp rate when conditions allow. The sealed, anodized aluminum enclosure carries an IP67 rating and a two-year limited warranty.
