Ranger adds leverless bead lifter kit for tilt-back tire changers
The Ranger Division of BendPak has introduced a new Leverless Auto Bead Lifter Kit designed to reduce technician strain and improve wheel protection during tire service. Compatible with Ranger R80EX and R76 Series tilt-back tire changers, the accessory automates bead lifting to eliminate the need for manual tire irons and prybars.
The company said the system is intended to help shops improve productivity and reduce the risk of wheel damage. Instead of manually prying the bead over the wheel edge, the kit provides a controlled lifting motion during both tire removal and installation.
“Using a tire iron to lift a bead is one of the more complex steps of changing a tire. One slip, and you can damage an expensive rim,” explained Sean Price, BendPak director of product development. “Our Leverless Auto Bead Lifter simplifies and automates the process, decreasing chances of damaging a rim, even with newer technicians.”
According to BendPak, the tool can also serve as a helper device when mounting the top bead, helping reduce technician fatigue during repetitive tire service work. The company positioned the system as a way to support shops facing technician shortages, onboarding challenges, and an aging workforce by reducing the physical demands of tire changing.
The leverless kit is designed as an upgrade for existing Ranger R80EX and R76 Series machines and is intended to speed up setup and service times, allowing technicians to complete more tire jobs throughout the day.
