Mavis Tire Express Services Corp. has completed its $700 million acquisition of Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack, a deal that includes nearly 800 Pep Boys locations.

The Mavis network now includes more than 4,400 service center locations across North America, including a substantially expanded presence across the Western United States.

Pep Boys was previously owned by Icahn Automotive Group LLC, which acquired the chain 10 years ago.

“Closing this transaction marks an important milestone for Mavis and an exciting next chapter for Pep Boys,” said Stephen Sorbaro, Mavis co-CEO. "Our focus now turns to bringing our organizations together, supporting our technicians and store teams, and building on the strengths of both brands. Together, we have an even greater opportunity to provide customers with dependable service and I look forward to what’s ahead."

As part of the transaction, Icahn Enterprises will retain the real estate previously transferred from Pep Boys, along with the AAMCO Transmissions and Precision Tune Auto Care businesses.

Pep Boys also recently expanded its maintenance relationship with Merchants Fleet, which said it would direct more maintenance volume to the retailer's nearly 800 locations to improve service consistency and turnaround times for fleet customers.
