Aperia unveils Halo Connect i3

March 11, 2024
The new tire management system can monitor tires in all positions and offer asset tracking and customizable reports.

Aperia Technologies launched its latest automatic tire inflation system, Halo Connect i3, at the 2024 American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition. Suited for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, the Halo Connect i3 is an “integrated, intelligent, and automatic inflation solution,” according to Aperia.

“Imagine receiving customized real-time alerts for abnormal tire pressure, temperature, or vibration issues,” said Ralph Dimenna, chief commercial officer at Aperia. “This allows you to monitor performance, minimize costly roadside breakdowns, and make adjustments to your tire program with over-the-air communication.”

Not only does the Halo Connect i3 serve as an automatic tire inflation system (ATIS) and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), it also includes integrated pressure sensing, remote pressure set point adjustment, configurable alerts, and customized inflation settings. This pressure monitoring is also integrated with the Halo Tire Inflator, removing the need for separate TPMS sensors and can take environmental factors into account to avoid false alerts.

With Bluetooth, RF, CAN, GPS, and LTE connectivity providing two-way communication, the system can also integrate with other vehicle devices and fleet management systems. This allows the system the ability to scale its monitoring services for a terminal, entire fleet, or a single truck. Additionally, Aperia’s new offering also offers asset tracking, customizable reports, and intelligent alerts that can monitor fleetwide metrics to tire health history.

All of this data from the Halo Connect i3 is presented on a user-friendly interface that is accessible across all fleet levels, whether they’re a driver receiving tire status updates or techs examining tire diagnostics. Installation is easy, too, the company stated, with techs only needing five minutes per wheel end. Maintenance is also streamlined as the system is compatible with FlowBelow wheel covers and hub odometers and can stay on the wheel during tire and wheel service for greater convenience.
