Mack Trucks announced that it’s now offering a newly designed Mack Anthem day cab roof fairing, offering customers increased fuel efficiency benefits and improved total cost of ownership. Mack made the announcement during the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) Annual Management Conference and Exhibition, June 13-15 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati.

The improved roof fairing design, now available for order, increases fuel efficiency by up to 2% when paired with side shields, the company said.

“Mack remains committed to improving the total cost of ownership for customers by designing innovative and fuel-efficient components, delivering better fuel efficiency results,” said Stu Russoli, Mack highway product manager. “Designing products that offer up to a 2% fuel efficiency improvement on an already fuel-efficient truck significantly impacts a customer’s bottom line.”

Mack Anthem day cab models can be SmartWay certified if spec’d with roof fairings and side shields, chassis fairing, and an aerodynamic bumper option. In addition, low-rolling resistance SmartWay-certified tires are required.

The Mack Anthem day cab at NPTC is spec’d with Mack’s proprietary Mack MP 7 engine providing customers with a fuel-efficient option to boost their bottom line. The highly efficient MP7 is both powerful and lightweight, enabling customers to maximize payloads.

The Mack Anthem day cab also features the Mack mDRIVE 12-speed overdrive automated manual transmission, delivering smooth shifts, better fuel efficiency, and a more comfortable driver experience.

Mack Anthem models also are equipped with Mack GuardDog Connect, Mack’s integrated telematics solution, which monitors critical fault codes that could lead to unplanned downtime. GuardDog Connect also is the enabling technology for Mack Over The Air remote software and parameter updates. Mack Over The Air is now standard with driver download activation feature so customers can implement software updates themselves at their convenience.
