VSP News: Kolman's Korner, Episode 92 - Integrated Powertrains

Nov. 9, 2015
Stu Russoli, highway and powertrain marketing manager for Mack Trucks, discusses integrated powertrains.

Over the past several years in the trucking industry, there has been a move toward integrated powertrains.  I asked Stu Russoli, highway and powertrain marketing manager for Mack Trucks, why.

Mack is one of North America’s largest producers of heavy duty trucks.

Recently, Mack brought its axle production to the Hagerstown, Maryland, plant – where Mack powertrain components have been assembled since 1961.  Doing so allows the company to oversee the manufacturing process – from design to assembly.

Russoli noted that integrated powertrains offer benefits to both on-highway and vocational trucks users.

How can you tell if a Mack Truck has an integrated powertrain?

What could be the next evolution in integrated powertrains?
