Ford is expanding the capability and configuration options for its 2027 Super Duty lineup, adding availability of the Tremor Off-Road Package, a new XL Off-Road 35" Tire Package, and the introduction of Platinum trim for Super Duty chassis cab models, answering customer demand for both greater off-road capability and more premium features in work-focused trucks.

Tremor Off-Road Package

For 2027, Ford is making the Tremor Off-Road Package available across more Super Duty configurations, including XL models equipped with the STX Appearance Package. The package adds features such as 35-in. off-road tires, a factory lift, electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, Trail Control, and Rock Crawl Mode, allowing fleets and owner-operators to order factory-built off-road capability rather than relying on aftermarket modifications.

"For customers who overland on weekends and tow for work during the week, Tremor being an option with STX Appearance Package lowers the barrier to serious off-road capability," wrote Austin Solimine, Super Duty retail brand manager at Ford, in a blog post about the updates. "This is a direct response to what we saw customers building on their own—now we're bringing it from the factory."

Ford is also adding a configuration long requested by customers: Tremor availability with an 8-ft. bed. The package will now be offered on Crew Cab models with the 176" wheelbase and long box, allowing operators who require maximum cargo capacity to combine an 8-ft. bed with Tremor’s off-road equipment. The setup can also be paired with a 48-gal. fuel tank, the largest available for Super Duty.

XL Off-Road 35" Tire Package

For work-truck buyers, Ford is introducing the XL Off-Road 35" Tire Package, designed to provide additional ground clearance and traction while retaining the simplicity of the base XL trim. The package includes 35" tires, a factory ride-height increase, performance shocks, a limited-slip front differential, electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, and Rock Crawl Mode. It also comes with a matching 35" spare tire and a clean exterior without decals, allowing fleets and government agencies to apply their own branding.

"Arborists, forestry workers, mining engineers, and utility crews told us they needed more ground clearance and larger tires—in a clean work truck, without branded graphics or expensive interior content," Solimine stated.

The existing XL Off-Road Package will continue for 2027 but will be renamed the XL Off-Road 33" Tire Package, creating a two-tier off-road option structure within the XL trim. Both packages can be paired with the Ford Performance 12,000-lb. Warn winch.

Platinum trim for Super Duty

Ford is also introducing Platinum trim for Super Duty chassis cab models, including the F-350, F-450, and F-550, bringing premium interior features such as leather seating surfaces and the SYNC 4 infotainment system to trucks commonly used for vocational upfits like tow rigs, overlanding builds, and specialty hauling equipment.

According to Ford, the expanded lineup reflects feedback from fleet managers who wanted more factory-built capability and configuration flexibility for demanding jobsite and off-road conditions.

The 2027 Super Duty lineup is expected to open for orders in May 2026, with additional details and pricing to be released closer to launch.
