Eaton adds flywheel options for Volvo, Paccar, and Detroit engines

Five new aftermarket flywheel part numbers expand coverage for several common commercial vehicle engines, giving fleets and service providers additional replacement options for drivetrain repairs.

Eaton has expanded its aftermarket drivetrain portfolio with five new flywheel part numbers covering a range of heavy- and medium-duty truck applications, including engines from Volvo, Paccar, Detroit Diesel, and Caterpillar.

The new additions are intended to increase replacement-part availability for high-volume engine platforms commonly found in fleet operations. By broadening application coverage, Eaton said the expansion can help fleets and repair facilities source compatible flywheels more quickly and reduce vehicle downtime during drivetrain service.

The new flywheel offerings include coverage for the Volvo VED12, Paccar MX13, Detroit Diesel DD15, and Caterpillar 3306 engines. Separate flywheel options are available for both automated manual transmission (AMT) and manual transmission (MT) versions of the DD15.

New part numbers include:

  • 249C115 — Volvo VED12 (cross-reference: 20730056)
  • 249C117 — Caterpillar 3306 (cross-reference: 4P4613)
  • 249C118 — Paccar MX13 (cross-reference: 1733593)
  • 249C119 — Detroit Diesel DD15 AMT (cross-reference: A4713007005)
  • 249C120 — Detroit Diesel DD15 MT (cross-reference: A4720301105)

Flywheels play a critical role in the drivetrain by transferring engine torque and helping maintain smooth power delivery. As fleets continue extending equipment life cycles and keeping older trucks in service longer, access to replacement drivetrain components remains an important part of maintenance planning and uptime management.

The expanded lineup is part of Eaton's ongoing effort to increase aftermarket coverage for commercial vehicle applications and provide replacement components aligned with original equipment specifications.
