Eaton Cummis recalls 1,338 Endurate and Paccar transmissions for unintended vehicle movement.

The transmission control module (TCM) in affected transmissions may allow the engine to crank briefly even if the transmission shifter is not in neutral, leading to vehicle movement, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report

"Upon receiving power, the TCM software considers the shift stalk in neutral, even if it is in a different position, until the shift stalk reports its actual position, which occurs approximately one second after power up," the safety recall report reads

Endurant transmissions affected:

  • EEO-17F112C
  • EEO-16F112C
  • EEO-18F112C

Paccar transmissions affected:

  • PO-14F112C
  • PO-15F112C
  • PO-16F112C
  • PO-17F112C
  • PO-18F112C

Affected vehicle manufactures will be contacted by Eaton Cummins to recall their vehicles and update the TCM software at no charge.
