amp Trillium, LLC, the joint venture between ampCNG and Trillium CNG, announced the opening of its public access compressed natural gas (CNG) station in the city of Canton, Ohio. The station is located at 4011 16th SW and will serve Frito-Lay North America, the station’s anchor tenant.

Frito-Lay North America selected Trillium CNG as a station partner to build public fueling infrastructure to serve its fleet of heavy duty, Class 8 CNG tractor trailers. Frito Lay has one of the largest CNG Fleets in the U.S.

Directly off US 30/US 65 and across from Frito-Lay North America’s Canton, Ohio, plant, the amp Trillium station will allow three Class 8 trucks to fuel simultaneously at 10-12 GGE per minute, a fueling rate made possible by Trillium CNG’s fast-fill proprietary hydraulic intensifier (HY-C) technology. The station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is accepting all major credit cards.

“amp Trillium’s CNG station in Canton further expands our growing network of sustainable and efficient fueling stations for large fleets,” said Donna Rolf, president and general counsel of ampCNG. “We’re proud to support one of the largest CNG fleets in the country and to be playing a significant role in the effort to create the economic and environmental opportunity that CNG provides.”

“We’re committed to supporting Frito-Lay North America’s CNG fueling infrastructure build-out plan,” said Mary Boettcher, Trillium CNG president. “We support Frito Lay’s sustainability goals to improve fleet fuel efficiency through reduction of harmful carbon emissions. Natural gas is clean burning and generates around 20 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than a comparable diesel truck.”
