Chevron focuses Delo products on synthetic engine oils

Nov. 9, 2023
Chevron will be sunsetting three of its HDEO products in favor of one synthetic blend, the Delo 400 XLE SB SAE 15W-40.

The Chevron Products Company is simplifying its Delo Heavy Duty Engine Oil (HDEO) product line to focus on synthetic blends and fully synthetic products. Beginning January 2024, Chevron will phase out three of their HDEO products: Delo 400 SDE SAE 10W-30, Delo 400 SDE SAE 15W-40, and Delo 400 XLE SAE15W-40.

“These updates will allow us to better meet our customers' needs today and well into the future,” said Walt Collier, Americas commercial sector manager at Chevron. “By moving to a synthetic blend and synthetic only portfolio of Delo HDEO products, our customers will continue to get the highest quality heavy duty engine oils they’ve come to expect from Chevron, with an increased focus on supply reliability and price competitiveness.”

The phased-out products will be replaced with the synthetic blend Delo 400 XLE SB SAE 15W-40, which the company stated complements the current Delo 400 XLE 10W-30. Additionally, Chevron emphasized that their synthetic products could still be used in applications that typically used heavy duty engine oils, so that no component changes are necessary.
