The Cummins RPL35+ is the company’s lightest driveline for Class 8 truck applications in the 21,500 ft.-lbs. high-torque range, weighing 28 lbs. less than the previous generation. This includes linehaul and heavy-duty service. The RPL35+ also has simplified connection points via an enhanced coupling yoke compared to traditional flange designs, and durability that supports the adoption of super-fast axle ratios to lower numerical axle ratios. Both the weight and RPM reduction at cruising speeds are meant to improve fuel efficiency. The use of involute splines provides more contact and enables smoother operation and better NVH.  And as part of the Permalube RPL series originated by Meritor, the driveline is permanently lubricated and sealed for life.
