FMCSA removes four devices from registered ELDs list
The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Association (FMCSA) has removed CTE-LOG ELD, ELD VOLT, POWERTRUCKS ELD, and TFM ELD from its list of registered electronic logging devices (ELDs). These removals are effective as of July 23, 2024, due to how these devices do not meet the minimum legal requirements for ELD functional specifications.
Due to these removals, motor carriers with these devices should not use them and revert to paper logs or other hours-of-service logging software, and then replace their devices with compliant ELDs from the Registered Devices list. They must do this before Sept. 21, 2024.

During the interim period of 60 days, safety officials are encouraged not to penalize fleets with these ELDs for the following regulations: 395.8(a)(1) – “No record of duty status” or 395.22(a) – “Failing to use a registered ELD.” Instead, they will ask drivers for their paper logs or backup logging software, or use the ELD display.
In the meantime, motor carriers have 60 days to replace their ELDs. Drivers found with these devices after the September deadline will be placed out-of-service. If CTE LOG ELD LLC, Power Deal Corp, Miran Support LLC, and TFM Group INC correct the deficiencies in their devices, FMCSA will restore them to the list of registered devices.
