U.S. DOT removes three ELDs from registered devices list
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) removed the TT ELD PT30, ELOG42, and RENAISSANCE ELD from its list of Registered Devices. These removals were effective as of Sept. 4, 2025.
FMCSA placed each of these devices on the Revoked Devices list because they didn’t meet the minimum requirements in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395. More specifically, the models for the following ELDs are no longer compliant:
- TT ELD PT30 Model Number: ARN752 ELD Identifier: CZGS10 ELD Provider: TT ELD Inc
- ELOG42 Model Number: ERS ELD Identifier: ERS156 ELD Provider: Leko INC
- RENAISSANCE ELD Model Number: RNSSNC ELD Identifier: RNS592 ELD Provider: RENAISSANCE ELD
Fleets have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELDs, and during the interim. FMCSA recommends that carriers revert to paper logs or other logging software to record hours of service. The deadline to replace the revoked ELDs with compliant ones is Nov. 3, 2025. Prior to that deadline, inspectors are encouraged not to cite drivers for 395.8(a)(1) – “No record of duty status” or 395.22(a) – “Failing to use a registered ELD.” Instead, they will refer to drivers’ alternate hours of service logging methods.
However, after Nov. 3, fleets still using any of the revoked-compliance devices will be placed out of service for driving without an ELD.
These devices will be put back on the Registered Devices list if their providers correct the deficiencies in their devices.
