Lytx launches Dynamic Risk risk-monitoring software
Lytx has launched Dynamic Risk, a suite of monitoring features to help fleets identify, assess, and act on environmental hazards and other risks while on the road.
"Today’s fleets face a complex landscape of unpredictable hazards, from sudden weather events and construction zones to increased pedestrian and cyclist activity," said Chris Cabrera, chief executive officer at Lytx. "Dynamic Risk is not just about detecting risk after the fact. It empowers drivers and managers with the intelligence to anticipate and proactively prevent incidents before they happen, helping protect their drivers, avoid costly incidents, and operate more efficiently in a rapidly changing world.”
The system combines data from real-time machine vision and AI-powered road imagery with environmental sensors and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather data to provide fleets with alerts on current and potential road hazards. This lets Dynamic Risk automatically tag road events with weather-related phenomena such as low visibility, snowy roads, wet roads, and more.
Upcoming features
Additionally, Lytx plans to add more features to Dynamic Risk in the future, such as the Dynamic Risk Index and In-Cab Weather alerts. Dynamic Risk Index is a weighted scoring model that will integrate into coaching workflows and adjust based on current environmental factors, while In-Cab Weather alerts will keep fleets and drivers up-to-date on potential weather hazards. Both of these features are currently in beta.
Finally, Lytx is updating some of its current features in Dynamic Risk, which will be rolled out in 2026. For instance, the program’s Pedestrian Detection feature, which lets drivers know when a pedestrian is in the vehicle’s path, will also be added as an environmental risk that can be tagged with other items such as speeding and distracted driving. As well as this, Lytx plans to add Roadwork Detection to Dynamic Risk, which will add tags and visibility for hazards specifically related to construction. According to the company, these features are currently being tested by customers in the Lytx Lab.
