Connected Calibrations adds to the company’s adasThink solution. After going into beta testing in October to get feedback from shops, asTech has launched to product as an integration to the repair order submission process.

“We can hook up our device to the car, connect into our remote technicians, and they are able to pull up the submission form,” said Nikki VanderSchaaff, VP of Product Engineering, asTech. Then, thanks to Connected Calibrations, the “adasThink results are right in there, telling that car-side tech what calibrations are going to be required from the moment they submit it in.”

Additionally, the solution will automatically flag down when a job requires calibration in a real-time dashboard, allowing estimators at collision repair shops to track the job and make sure nothing is missed. These notifications also activate when a calibration isn’t ordered at all.

asTech Gen 3

Gen 3 is the latest version of asTech’s all-in-one scan and calibration platform, according to the company. Not only is it built to be compact and efficient, but it also includes new features like built-in Wi-Fi for updates and diagnostics and a touchscreen.

According to VanderSchaaff, asTech updated the platform partially due to new OEM protocols, but they also used the opportunity to streamline the device overall. Now, the device can fit in a cup holder in a vehicle, and technicians can remove the antennas when they need.

Currently, Gen 3 is open for presale.

BlueDriver MAX

Finally, asTech’s BlueDriver MAX is designed to provide more diagnostics insights and hardware capabilities, making it accessible for workers beyond the shop.

“BlueDriver scans the vehicle and provides the DTCs and the current state of the vehicle,” noted Cole Reiken, managing director of BlueDriver. “And our magic sauce really comes into being able to translate the library of DTCs into common English and then into providing suggested repairs of what those vehicles are.”

According to Reiken, this allows BlueDriver MAX to provide technicians and dealerships with the total cost of repairs and reconditioning if the device finds any problems.

“So if a DTC is found, we provide back the most common fix, and then what the reconditioning cost is, [as well as] parts and labor to actually make that repair,” he added.

Taken together, these diagnostic insights and admin controls for field work is meant to streamline operations in the shop.

“BlueDriver MAX was designed to meet the unique diagnostic needs of enterprise-level customers,” said Keith Crerar, Chief Transformation Officer. “BlueDriver MAX provides the hardware and software features that commercial businesses need to efficiently complete high levels of scans and calibrations on a regular basis.”
