ZF launches diagnostic scan tool at HDAW
ZF Aftermarket has unveiled its new ZF Scan platform at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2026, aiming to give technicians a single interface to diagnose and service multiple ZF systems from one tool, improving first-time fix rates and vehicle uptime.
The solution consolidates several legacy ZF diagnostic applications, including WABCO TOOLBOX PLUS and ZF Testman, into one unified platform. Rather than switching between programs, technicians can use ZF Scan to perform full vehicle health scans, read and clear fault codes, adjust parameters, and support ECU flashing where applicable. The goal is to streamline diagnostics as braking, transmission, chassis, and ADAS become more integrated.
“ZF Scan is part of ZF Aftermarket's broader strategy to support the full commercial vehicle service ecosystem with OE-engineered parts, digital tools, and technical expertise,” said Chris Battershell, Head of Aftermarket North America. “By combining advanced diagnostics with ZF's deep system knowledge, the company continues to help fleets and service providers adapt to the rapid pace of change across the heavy-duty industry.”
ZF Scan's user-friendly interface reduces training time and helps technicians efficiently move through the diagnostic process into repair. The platform also addresses security and update management, coming compliant with current OE cybersecurity standards and Software Update Management Systems (SUMS), helping ensure authorized access to vehicle systems and ongoing coverage as software updates are released.
ZF Aftermarket is showcasing the ZF Scan hardware with software demonstrations at HDAW, alongside the rest of its portfolio of products and services for commercial vehicles.
