Cheema Freightlines deploys Platform Science’s telematics platform

Dec. 19, 2023
The 3PL provider will be utilizing Virtual Vehicle on its fleet of 500, allowing drivers access to telematics data from the vehicle.

Cheema Freightlines is partnering with Platform Science to deploy the latter's Virtual Vehicle platform on its vehicles. As fleets work to mitigate data overload from their increasingly connected trucks, the Virtual Vehicle platform offers configurable data access on motion around the truck, refrigerated container temperature, tire pressure, and more, the company stated.

“Virtual Vehicle replaces the need for aftermarket hardware with a light-weight operating system that provides simplicity, consistency, and cost effectiveness," said Harman Cheema, president and CEO of Cheema Freightlines. “We want to provide our drivers with the best experience and provide our customers with the best truckload services and Platform Science’s Virtual Vehicle is the ideal solution to meet these goals.”

The system offers driver access to telematics, real-time vehicle data, safety features, and third-party applications, many of which are accessible from the vehicle itself. Drivers can access their apps, CAN bus updates, vehicle sensors, and warehouse data, while the back office can utilize Drivewyze, Lytx, Vector, and an online portal for vehicle data.
