To make it as a commercial vehicle repair technician, you have to be tough. But even the toughest skin can be pierced and ligaments snapped when dealing with the tools and parts needed to keep heavy equipment running day after day. This means shop managers need to ensure their people wear the proper personal protective equipment for the task at hand. But they also need to provide the flexibility and comfort techs need to make precise repairs and maintenance.
This goes for gloves that offer the proper cut protection and dexterity to clothing that’s easy to clean and won’t snag on a bracket. And for safety glasses, remember that the point is to protect your employee’s vision, not just check a box with OSHA. Certain jobs require sturdier eyewear than the flimsy plastic you make visitors to the shop wear.
There’s a lot to consider, and a lot of areas of the body to cover. To help you outfit your technicians for success, here's a list of various PPE from our 2025 Product Showcase.
