DeWalt has expanded its ATOMIC 20V MAX lineup with a range of compact grinders and cut-off tools designed to deliver pneumatic-like performance in a cordless format. The new offerings target technicians working in tight spaces, where maneuverability, control, and reduced setup time can directly impact productivity and safety.

Across the lineup, DeWalt emphasizes replacing traditional air-powered tools with battery-operated alternatives that eliminate the need for hoses and compressors, which frees up workspace and reducing trip hazards in busy service bays.

The line includes:

  • DCG402B DEWALT 20V MAX* ATOMIC 4-1/2" Angle Grinder
  • DCG420B DEWALT 20V MAX* ATOMIC Die Grinder
  • DCG422B DEWALT 20V MAX* ATOMIC Right Angle Die Grinder
  • DCG420XB DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX* Extended Die Grinder
  • DCG430B DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX* 3" Cut-Off Tool
  • DCG432XB DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX* 4" Extended Cut-Off Tool
  • DCG400B DEWALT 20V MAX* ATOMIC 4" Angle Grinder

The series includes multiple die grinder configurations, such as straight, right-angle, and extended-reach models, all built for precision metalworking and access in confined areas. These tools deliver up to 445–455 max watts out (MWO) and feature ergonomic designs to improve handling during detailed work.

Also included are 3" and 4" cut-off tools, engineered for clean cuts in narrow spaces. The extended 4" version features a rotating guard with multiple positions to accommodate different cutting angles, while both tools are designed to offer comparable power to pneumatic equivalents with less noise and weight.

Rounding out the lineup are compact angle grinders, including 4" and 4-1/2" models, with output up to 755 MWO. These units are designed for higher-power applications while still maintaining a compact footprint for tight access.

A key feature across the ATOMIC series is DeWalt’s anti-rotation system, which helps improve operator control by quickly stopping the wheel during pinch, stall, or bind-up events to reduce the risk of sudden torque reactions.
