Hunter Engineering has released a new tire changer, the TCX53Pro. The equipment is suitable to change tire and wheel assemblies on performance OE trucks and SUVs and can handle 19.5s to EV fitments, the company said.
“The new TCX53Pro is a unique combination of premium features in a time-tested, familiar format,” said Jim Hudson, Hunter product manager for tire changers. “The hybrid head and lower locking disc make it much easier and safer to change tough tires on a simple, rugged swing arm tire changer.”
The table-top tire changer uses a swing-arm format and includes a locking lower disc and dual upper press rollers. The upper roller can lock or freewheel, and the tilting lip of the hybrid leverless tool head keeps the bead in position during demount. Its rounded profile helps reduce tire damage risk. Additionally, the 53Pro’s polymer winged head doesn’t need any protective inserts, and the wing feature keeps beads in position during mount.
Specifically, the 53Pro is heavier and more rigid and can offer up to 50% higher torque, the company said, and can offer a clamping range of 10-28”. It also includes a PowerOut bead breaker and 220V two-speed rotation.
