McLeod Software has released Version 26.2 of its transportation management platform, adding new planning, dispatch, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence capabilities for carriers and freight brokers.

The update includes new planning tools intended to improve equipment utilization and reduce empty miles by allowing users to plan trailer pool movements before assigning drivers or vehicles, identify backhaul opportunities, manage postings within Operations Management, and coordinate trailer sharing across multiple companies.

“Transportation companies continue to face pressure to do more with fewer resources while improving service and profitability,” said Tom McLeod, founder and CEO of McLeod Software. “Version 26.2 delivers practical enhancements across our platform that help customers make faster decisions, improve operational efficiency, gain deeper financial insights, and automate routine processes so their teams can focus on higher-value activities.”

Carrier management features were also expanded with updates to the Carrier Sales Board, giving users more visibility into carrier performance, profitability, and sales activity. Other additions include continuous move management, more accurate less-than-truckload (LTL) quoting, Truckstop.com private load posting, and secure rate confirmation delivery through Highway.

Version 26.2 also adds operational visibility tools like expanded lane profitability analysis, enhanced EDI reconciliation, additional shipment tracking through Descartes MacroPoint, and brokerage tracking improvements. The release also centralizes driver recruiting and application management.

To reduce manual processes, McLeod added faster cash application processing, SMS image capture for DocumentPower, streamlined claims management, quicker spot order creation, and updated tender workflow management.

Business intelligence updates include new role-based dashboards, expanded financial reporting, automatic currency and unit conversions for cross-border operations, improved billing and accounts receivable reporting, and reporting performance enhancements.

The release also updates compliance and financial management with regional fuel surcharge calculations, tariff management improvements, more accurate LTL billing, and receivables processing controls.

Driver Sidekick received several updates, including real-time load acceptance, enhanced appointment visibility, permissions-based navigation, and a redesigned home screen for signatures and freight photos.

McLeod also expanded the artificial intelligence capabilities of MPact.RespondAI. New features allow users to process multiple orders from a single email, extract shipment information from customer communications, prioritize inbox messages, and generate AI-assisted responses for email and MobileComm communications.

Additional administrative updates include centralized email configuration, bulk user management, expanded permissions, Process Lock Manager improvements, and centralized administration for Driver Sidekick, the Operations App, and DataFusion communications.
