Trucker Path expands reservable parking network to more than 50,000 spaces
Truck parking remains one of the industry's most persistent operational challenges, affecting driver productivity, safety, and compliance. Trucker Path has expanded its parking services to include more than 50,000 reservable truck parking spaces across the U.S., allowing drivers and fleets to book overnight and long-term parking directly through the app.
Previously known for its crowdsourced parking availability data, Trucker Path has built a network of more than one million users who contribute real-time information on parking conditions across North America. The addition of paid, reservable parking expands the platform beyond parking discovery and into trip planning and parking management, giving drivers greater certainty when approaching the end of available drive time.
“The U.S. faces a severe truck parking shortage, with availability estimated at one parking space for every 11 trucks on the road,” said Chris Oliver, CMO at Trucker Path. “The need for easily discoverable, secure, verified parking locations is mission critical. In addition to continuing to provide free parking availability at thousands of locations across North America, our new reservable parking network gives drivers and fleets the ability to reserve overnight and long-term parking directly within the app at more than 50,000 spots at professionally managed, secure locations. Going forward, we will continue to grow the number of locations until we've achieved national coverage.”
The company cited industry estimates showing that drivers spend an average of 56 minutes per day searching for parking. Those delays can add up to six to seven hours of lost productivity per week and thousands of dollars annually in unrealized revenue potential per driver. By allowing drivers to secure parking in advance, fleets may be able to reduce nonproductive time, improve route planning, and minimize hours-of-service disruptions.
“Adding 50 minutes of drive time a day more than pays for the $20 average per reservation cost of a reserved parking spot,” Oliver continued. “No matter how you do the math, 50 productive minutes equals about 40 more miles per day, so the ROI is immediate.”
Trucker Path said the new parking network includes professionally managed and secure locations that support both overnight and extended parking needs. The platform also uses historical utilization data and predictive analytics to help drivers identify available parking options before they arrive.
In addition to improving operational efficiency, reserved parking may help reduce cargo theft risks by limiting time spent parked in unsecured locations.
