The ATAs' Technology & Maintenance Council’s most recent fall survey surrounding top fleet maintenance concerns revealed that aftertreatment issues and cost containment are fleet’s most pressing concerns. This is shift from the last survey in summer 2024, which found economic inflation, brakes, and cost containment to be the most critical issues.

They survey polls 400 TMC fleet members, asking them to choose their top five concerns from a list of 85 issues. This year, after aftertreatment and cost containment, fleets were most concerned with inflation and the technician shortage, which tied for third place; emissions and greenhouse gases, and roadside breakdowns. Just off the top five list was new technology challenges.
