Sales Tip: Utilize Facebook to notify customers of route changes

May 30, 2018
Don't keep customers guessing if there's a change in schedule.

Consistency is an important quality for any distributor because it lets customers know they can count on their salesperson. But, inevitably, there are going to be route disruptions, and that's where Facebook can become a handy tool.

A Matco Tools distributor at a 2018 Matco Tool Show training session advised distributors to set up a business page on Facebook in order to keep in touch with customers. This can include notifying customers of schedule changes on a route, without having to text or call every shop. Or worse, leave them guessing.

Devin Curler, a Matco Tools distributor with a successful Facebook page, said that even if just "one guy in the shop 'likes' the page, they can let all the others know" about the schedule change.
