The Women In Trucking Association (WIT), a non-profit dedicated to encouraging the employment and success of women in the industry, has partnered with Bridgestone Americas at the Gold Level. As a result, LaTres Jarrett, executive director TBR at Bridgestone Americas, will serve on the organization’s Board of Directors.

“At Bridgestone, we are committed to cultivating a culture that advances equity and embraces individuality,” said Jarrett. “I am thrilled to continue that mission as a member of the WIT Board of Directors, joining forces with my industry colleagues to further advance and promote diversity in the trucking industry.”

In 2022, the Bridgestone Americas was a Platinum Sponsor of WIT’s Accelerate! Conference & Expo. Additionally, Samantha McCracken, strategic operations manager, Bridgestone, is a member of WIT's Content Advisory Council.

Currently, the WIT is a resource for nearly 8,000 corporate and individual members located in the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as Japan, Australia, Sweden, South Africa and New Zealand. The organization recently produced the 2022 WIT Index, the official barometer to benchmark and measure the percentage of women who make up critical roles in transportation each year, and found the number of professional female drivers had increased to 13.7%.

Additionally, WIT participated in White House and FMCSA roundtables and events; launched its Professional Driver Hub, an online resource to encourage driver success; and registered over 1,700 attendees at the 2022 Accelerate! Conference and Exhibition.
