Free technician webinar: Testing solenoids for Variable Valve Timing (VVT)

The ASE is offering this training webinar in partnership with Garage Gurus for any technicians looking to hone their skills.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Tuesday, April 4, at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “Testing Solenoids for Variable Valve Timing (VVT).”

In this webinar, Ryan Payne and Mark Kenyon with Garage Gurus will reveal important tips for diagnosing solenoids used in Variable Valve Timing (VVT) systems. The webinar will specifically focus on:

  • Understanding the different types of VVT solenoids found in modern vehicles
  • Understanding normal VVT operation and control
  • The importance of lab scope testing to quickly validate solenoid circuit integrity
  • Using scan tool data as well as basic electrical testing to quickly diagnose VVT solenoid issues
