May 21, 2025
TechForce is working with Bridgestone, CRC Industries, Ford, Hertz, and more to offer auto and diesel students and instructors several scholarships and prizes. Contests end May 31.
TechForce Foundation and its partners, including Bridgestone, GEARWRENCH, and more are offering several contests and scholarships to students and instructors using their platform. These include $13,000 in prizes and $6 million in scholarships, according to the organization, which students can apply for or compete for logging in to their TechForce account.
Contests, scholarships for students
TechForce is working with several organizations to give auto and diesel students a leg up in their education. These include:
Bridgestone is holding a contest for five winners to receive $1,000 gift cards. Entrants must answer the question “How could these tires help you get from Point A to Point B in your tech journey?” The contest ends May 31.
CRC Industries is sponsoring the leaderboard prizes for TechForce students, who can earn points by watching training videos, answering training questions, or applying for scholarships. The three students with the most points will win a SmartWasher BechtopPro Kit (valued at $720 each), including extra micropro paks and BT5 solution. This contest ends May 31.
GEARWRENCH is taking submissions for the diagnostic code that students look forward to the least. The winner will receive a Smart07 tool, and five second-place winners will receive the Smart BT.
Finally, Ford Philanthropy and Ford dealers are offering several Ford Auto Tech Scholarships through TechForce. The companies are offering $5,000 need-based tuition scholarships to students pursuing careers in auto, diesel, and auto/diesel technology. The money goes toward a student’s school tuition account, where it can be used for tuition, tools, living expenses, and transportation. To apply, students must create a profile in TechForce, pick their post-secondary tech school or select ‘Other’, and complete a general application and answer some scholarship questions. Students can apply at any time, but will be considered by the review committee four months before their start date. Students must be “enrolled” in their school at the time of application, and funding is awarded on a first-come, first serve basis.
Contests for instructors
TechForce is also working with several partners to award teachers and schools with gift cards and vouchers to benefit their programs.
Harbor Freight is awarding one teacher with a $250 Harbor Freight gift card for providing the funniest teaching moment, particularly of when an instructor knew something was about to go wrong before the student did. This contest ends May 31.
Hertz is offering five $3,000 tool vouchers to schools that are integrating real, hands-on electric vehicle training into their auto and diesel programs. To compete, teachers must state how they’re teaching their students to work on EVs through their TechForce account by July 31. Please note that TechForce will verify the teacher’s position through their school.
