The award is named after Marvin Bozarth, a prominent figure in OTR tire and retread industries who was also an advocate for technician training.
The award itself recognizes OTR technicians who demonstrate service, safety, and professionalism. The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for them and a guest to the 2026 OTR Tire Conference in Orlando, Florida, including round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and conference registration, as well as a Golden Hard Hat plaque.
To qualify, the technician’s company must be a TIA member in good standing. The technician must also have completed Basic CTS and Basic ETS training programs, have a minimum of three years’ experience as an OTR technician, and be free to attend the conference. To nominate a tech, keep in mind that there can only be one nomination per company. Nominees will need a letter of recommendation from a store manager, assistant manager, service manager, and/or safety personnel, a letter of recommendation from at least one salesperson and one customer, and photos of the tech’s service truck or tool compartments.
Nominations will be accepted here. The deadline to submit is October 1, 2025.
