Autel will host a full-day training program on advanced automotive HVAC and thermal management diagnostics October 30 in Port Washington, New York.
The program will focus on diagnostic strategies behind the company’s MaxiHVAC AC909 and how technicians can combine live vehicle data with physical A/C system measurements when diagnosing increasingly complex thermal-management systems.
As vehicle HVAC systems have expanded beyond cabin comfort to help regulate batteries, power electronics, computers, and other components, technicians may need to consider more than refrigerant pressures and temperatures when troubleshooting a thermal-management concern.
The training will be led by Gary DeLuca, founder of Autel U.S. and developer of the AC909, and Gary Machiros, owner of Applied Automotive Technology. The instructors will demonstrate how the AC909 brings refrigerant pressure, temperature, humidity, and other system measurements together with vehicle diagnostic data on a graphical analysis screen.
The October 30 program will cover:
- HVAC diagnostic strategies using OBD data and physical system measurements
- Pressure, temperature and humidity analysis
- Compressor, condenser, evaporator and metering-device diagnostics
- Electronically controlled A/C systems and components
- ICE, hybrid and EV thermal management, including heat-pump systems
- Guided diagnostic workflows using the AC909
- Refrigerant leak-detection techniques
DeLuca has more than 50 years of experience in automotive training and repair, including diagnostics, A/C and commercial HVAC. Machiros has more than 40 years of experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, and shop ownership and is an ASE Master Technician, instructor, and industry consultant.
The training is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Roslyn, 3 Harbor Park Drive, Port Washington, New York. Tickets are $249 per person, with breakfast, snacks, and lunch included. Seating is limited, and a discounted hotel rate is available using the group code “Autel.”
