ASA, AVI to offer training alongside AAPEX 2016

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) and AVI have teamed up to offer attendees two full days of management and technical training on Monday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) and AVI have teamed up to offer attendees two full days of management and technical training on Monday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. The training will take place alongside AAPEX 2016, and is in addition to the 40-plus sessions offered in the 2016 AAPEXedu program.

The ASA management training is geared toward automotive repair shop owners, managers and service advisors. Topics will include: “Maintenance Profit Master,”  “Strategies for Effective Leadership,” “Targeted Marketing that Brings in Loyal, Profitable Customers” and “Preparing to Service Connected Cars – Today.” All classes are approved by the Automotive Management Institute (AMI) and will earn credit toward the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. The fee to attend is $150 for ASA members or $200 for non-members. Both fees include AAPEX registration. Watch for more information and registration on the AAPEX website, www.aapexshow.com.

On Oct. 31, AVI’s program will include “Bosch: Advanced Diagnostic Challenge,” “Amp Clamp: Current Ramping Today’s Cars,” “Rapid Fire Diagnostics: Going Beyond the Code,” “Bosch: European Evaporative Emissions,” and “Diesel Day.” Classes on “TPMS: The System, the Myth, the Legend & Data Bussing the Brakes” and “Mastering the Module Flash” also will be offered on Oct. 31.

The AVI program on Nov. 1 will include “Wide Band Air Fuel Ratio Sensors,” “Hot Heads 2: Advanced Cooling System Design and Diagnostics,” “Real World Diagnostics,” “Courtroom Diagnostics: Who Killed Dr. Stoichiometric?” and “Advanced Technology Vehicles: Service and Maintenance.”

A keynote address by Giuliano Zuccato, one of six clay design modelers who crafted the original 1964 Mustang, will round out AVI’s program at noon (PST) on Oct. 31.
