TIA schedules in-person Advanced ETS training

Advanced Hands-On Earthmover Tire Service training offerings for 2021 will be held September 28 through October 1 at Stellar Industries in Garner, Iowa, and December 14 through 16 at AME International in Tampa, Florida.

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is expanding its Advanced Hands-On Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) training offerings for 2021, with in-person classes scheduled for September and December.

“The hands-on courses allow students to leave with comprehensive knowledge that can only come from a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA’s senior vice president of training. “We are happy to get back out in the field with two more in-person Advanced ETS classes scheduled for this year.”

The classes will be held September 28 through October 1 at Stellar Industries in Garner, Iowa, and December 14 through 16 at AME International in Tampa, Florida. Class sessions will run from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Tuesdays through Thursdays and 8:30 AM to noon on Fridays. Students will receive comprehensive hands-on training using a service truck, hydraulic tools, and a variety of equipment that can aid them in servicing tires.

Course content includes the following topics:

  • Service truck Operation
  • Preventative maintenance training (service truck, crane, compressor, etc.)
  • Site preparation and equipment
  • Hydraulic tool operation and maintenance
  • Servicing one-, three-, and five-piece rims (on machine and loose)
  • Wheel and rim fastening systems
  • Wheel inspection
