The University of the Aftermarket Foundation’s (UAF) scholarship website, HeavyDutyScholarships.com, is still offering vocational students scholarship funds for the 2024-25 academic year. These funds are specifically for students studying to become heavy duty techs or engineering, business, IT, or cybersecurity workers for the heavy-duty diesel field. Additionally, other scholarships are offered for technicians studying collision repair.
This online application may be used to apply for various scholarships a student qualifies for, including those offered from the UAF, American Diesel Specialists, ASE Education Foundation, Gates Corporation, MacKay & Company, Mitchell1, PPG Platinum, and more.
Applications are due March 31, 2024, and students may apply on UAF’s website.

To qualify, students must be graduating high-school seniors or full-time students at a U.S. college, university, or ASE or NATEF-certified post-secondary automotive, heavy duty, or collision repair school. If a student is still in high school, they must plan on going to one such post-secondary program. There is no GPA requirement to apply, and former recipients may reapply as well.
Students should note that there are separate applications for students in the U.S. and Canada. For students in the U.S., they may log in to UAF’s website and update their application until March 31.
Requirements for the scholarship application include a one-page essay on the student’s career goals and an optional personal video. They must also include at least one letter of reference, and, depending on the organization the student applies to, they may require this letter of reference come from one of their members or the student's automotive instructor. Students will also need to submit their academic transcripts for the past year, and may need to meet other organization-specific requirements as well.
