Yokohama increases commercial tire prices

Jan. 10, 2022
For the second time in six months, the tire manufacturer is increasing its prices on both consumer and commercial tires.

Yokohama Tire is increasing the prices on its consumer replacement and commercial truck tires, effective Feb. 1. This is the second time in the last six months that the tire manufacturer has increased its prices.

On Aug. 1, 2021, Yokohama increased its prices, citing the “unprecedented increase in the cost of raw materials and the ongoing rise of operational costs necessitated the price adjustments.”

Yokohama is continuing this reasoning, naming the “continued rise in operational costs” as the cause for the additional price increase.

On Oct. 5, 2021, the tire manufacturer announced two new tires for the commercial truck market—the 124R and 505C. The 124R radial tire is designed for regional pickup and delivery fleets while the 505C is engineered for on/off-highway trucks.

Yokohama did not provide the increase percentage in its announcement.
