Cummins has launched the Meritor MFLEX4 air disc brake pad to simplify service and redice inventory complexity. According to the company, the brake pad will cover up to 70% of the Class 8 trailer-truck market, including Bendix ADB22X, Hendrickson MAXX22T, WABCO MAXXUS, and WABCO PAN22.

“The MFLEX4 is a technician-friendly solution that directly addresses common challenges, such as fitment complexity, parts proliferation and service efficiency,” said Jason Soika, North American Aftermarket General Manager for Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems. “By combining Meritor’s OE expertise with aftermarket insights, we’re empowering parts dealers and distributors to streamline their operations and helping fleets maximize uptime with a high-quality, cost-effective product.”

Good for both linehaul and severe-service applications, the MFLEX4 features Meritor Positive Pad Retraction (PPR) Springs designed to improve fuel efficiency and extend rotor and pad life. It also features two friction mixes, linehaul and severe service, each of which are designed to meet OE performance standards. The MFLEX4 is uniformly priced across all four of its caliper applications, and comes with a limited one-year warranty and Bendix’s ADB22X caliper warranty coverage.

There are four different part numbers, two each for linehaul and severe service, with one for each including a retainer bar. The brake pads come with all-in-one installation kits for technicians, and include:

  • 4 pads
  • 4 springs
  • 2 Wabco pressure
  • 4 pads
  • 4 springs
  • 2 WABCO pressure plate springs
  • Bendix® cotter pin assembly
  • 2 Bendix shear nuts
  • Adjuster caps

The MFLEX4 was developed by Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems (formerly Meritor), and is available through Meritor aftermarket distributors across North America.
