Continental adds long-haul drive retread

The new retread features a five-rib tread pattern, V-shaped grooves, and 3D metric sipes designed to promote traction and even wear.

Continental Tires the Americas has added the ContiTread HDL 5 EP to its retread portfolio for long-haul drive applications.

The retread features a five-rib tread pattern designed to provide traction while helping reduce rolling resistance and fuel consumption. An optimized footprint and V-shaped groove design are intended to promote even wear and extend tread life.

The ContiTread HDL 5 EP also uses a compound designed to improve wear resistance and reduce heat buildup. Three-dimensional metric sipes are intended to enhance traction and handling across varying road and weather conditions.

The retread is available in sizes 220, 230, and 240, with a tread depth of 21/32 in.
