Queclink debuts new AI-powered dual-facing dashcam
The dashcam can connect to two additional cameras for greater visibility around the truck, and provides AI-powered alerts for lane departures, collisions, driver fatigue, and more.
“The CV5000 is a high-performance, all-in-one dashcam that has been developed to cope with the diverse requirements of the commercial fleet sector,” explained Chris Diaz, director of Business Development at Queclink Wireless Solutions. “It builds on the success of the CV200, launched at the beginning of last year, with significant enhancements in terms of camera options, AI functionality, positioning accuracy, and system integration.”
The dashcam not only features forward- and driver-facing views as standard, it can also connect to up to two additional cameras to offer side, rear, or cargo views. It also offers an optional CAN bus integration, enhanced GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) capabilities for tracking, and a large ceramic antenna to increase its signal strength. Finally, the camera features dual MicroSD storage that supports up to 1 TB of data for long-duration, high-resolution recording.
As for the camera’s AI features, the CV5000’s platform can recognize road events outside the cab using advanced driver assistance system, Driver Monitoring System, and Blind Spot Detection functionality. This allows the camera to provide alerts for events both inside and outside the truck, including:
Lane departures
Potential forward collisions
Nearby vulnerable road users on the road
Driver distraction
Driver fatigue
Seatbelt use
As well as this, the company reported that its system includes a CMOS active pixel sensor with an image signal processor for low-light performance and traffic sign recognition. Plus, in the future, Queclink plans to incorporate a Facial ID feature for automated driver identification.
