Ford Pro opens ordering for enhanced-range E-Transit

April 30, 2024
The electric van from Ford Pro can now reach 159 miles per charge with its low-roof configuration while also offering in-cab safety features and fast charging.

Ford Pro is accepting orders for its newest version of the E-Transit, the company’s electric van. The enhanced-range version offers up to 32% more range, the company stated, and is able to drive 159 miles on a single charge. Additionally, the vehicle includes faster charging with its dual onboard chargers.

With these additions, Ford Pro is aiming to serve fleets whose routes vary slightly by the day and can include idling and auxiliary power needs, but still return to a set charging location every night. Such applications include medical services, bus and shuttle operations, delivery and distribution routes, construction services, and mobile maintenance and repair offerings.

To best serve these markets, the enhanced-range E-Transit can cover 159 miles on 89 kWh of usable energy with the low-roof body. Meanwhile, high-roof vans have a range of 143 miles on a single charge. Regardless of body, the van offers 266 hp and 317 ft.-lb. of torque. Additionally, the dual onboard chargers can charge 22% faster when used with the company’s 80A Series 2 charger, as well as its proprietary software that lets users find the best times to charge.

In-cab features include E-Telematics, which provides remote commands and controls, as well as driver assist features such as the Standard Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with AEB, and high-resolution cameras.

Orders for the E-Transit start at $51,095 before local, state, and federal EV incentives. However, the electric van is also eligible for the federal $7,500 Commercial Clean Vehicle Tax Credit.
