The Isuzu 2018 FTR has been introduced to the Class 6 medium duty truck segment. The FTR will be powered by the company's 4HK1-TC 5.2L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine. The powerplant will be mated to an Allison 2000 Series automatic transmission. The engine carries a B10 durability of 310,000 miles. Available with aluminum 50-gal or 100-gal fuel tanks, eight wheelbase configurations will accommodate bodies from 16' to 30'. The cab features a clean back-of-cab design. The FTR will feature a low-cab-forward design to increase visibility and improves maneuverability. The FTR cab has wide step and wide-opening doors. The interior offers a suspension driver’s seat among other features.
