Rivian to open first Hawaiian service center in 2024

Sept. 27, 2023
The electric vehicle manufacturer will be expanding its service operations to Hawaii, where its new service center will handle vehicle deliveries and maintenance and repair.

Rivian, an electric vehicle manufacturer and auto technology company, will be opening its first service center in Hawaii in Kapālama Kai by the summer of 2024. The company’s new 15,181-sq.-ft. service center will be located at 1603 Dillingham Blvd. on Kamehameha Schools commercial land in the Kapālama ahupuaʻa area, north of Honolulu.

The facility will be able to manage vehicle deliveries and handle full maintenance and repairs for R1 Rivian vehicles and commercial vans as Kapālama Kai continues to develop.

“Being home to Rivian’s first Hawaii location aligns with our vision for Kapālama Kai as an innovative community dedicated to ensuring the health and vibrancy of ‘āina while setting the foundation for a comprehensive multimodal transportation hub,” said Bobbie Lau, senior asset manager at Kamehameha Schools.

The center will serve as headquarters for Rivian’s Hawaii Service Team and house the company’s Vehicle Operations, Delivery, and Mobile Operations teams for the region.

“We’re excited to begin the development of our Honolulu Service Center, which will provide full service to Rivian vehicles on the island of Oahu,” said Noe Mejia, vice president of Service Operations at Rivian. “In addition to Oahu, this service center will serve as a hub for mobile service throughout the state.”

Rivian is currently recruiting service technicians and support staff for the new location.
