On this week's episode of The Fleet Lead, the lead editors from EndeavorB2B’s trucking industry brands cover a range of topics to catch you up on what’s been happening in the industry over the summer of 2025.

First, Bulk Transporter Editor Jason McDaniel discusses a visit to dry and liquid hauler G&D Trucking’s (Hoffman Transportation) employee appreciation event, where former college football legend and current ESPN analyst Tim Tebow spoke. McDaniel also discussed how the freight recession and overall economy have depressed the bulk market. (2:30)

FleetOwner Editor-in-Chief Josh Fisher spoke about what he learned from a visit to ACT Research. Fisher noted the depressed used truck market has gotten so bad that when smaller fleets and owner-operators miss several truck loan payments, the banks are preferring to let them keep driving, because late payments are better than reselling the repossessed trucks at a significant loss. (12:20)

After that, Kevin Jones, Trailer|Body Builders editor and Commercial Vehicle Group content director, talked with FleetOwner editor Jeremy Wolfe about the English proficiency rules taking effect in trucking. (18:50)

Finally, Fisher and Fleet Maintenance Editor-in-Chief John Hitch recapped the latest in emissions regulations, with Hitch going over the Trump Administration’s messy battle with California Air Resources Board this summer.  (22:45)

This was the group’s first roundtable, and we welcome suggestions for future topics. (We’re also new at this, so constructive criticism is also appreciated so we can provide you, the audience, with the best listening experience possible.)
