Diesel EGR Valve

Aug. 14, 2007
Emission regulations continue to be tightened, requiring diesel engines to have the lowest possible emissions. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is one of the most effective methods of controlling the emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx). In order to meet emission standards BorgWarner is building on its previous diesel EGR system experience and research into new and innovative systems and products. This will allow car manufacturers to meet present and future NOx. At the same time, customers want an EGR valve that will fit within the limited space of the engine compartment. BorgWarner is addressing this challenge with its new DEGR valve. It features a DC motor actuator combined with a unique drive system that provides fast response, resistance to exhaust gas contamination, and enhanced packaging flexibility, all within a smaller package.
