Platform Science gets data security certification

The organization recently received a certification for managing an Information Security Management System, a growing requirement for telematics providers.

The International Organization for Standardization granted Platform Science ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system supporting infrastructure and services. Platform Science’s system handles the development, operations, maintenance, and delivery of the company’s Connected Vehicle and Cloud portal applications.

“We are committed to ensuring the highest standards of data security and achieving the ISO 27001 is another example of this,” said Andrew Blocksidge, vice president of Information Technology, Platform Science. “Having third party validations including the ISO 27001 and other certifications like SOC2 Type 2, for which Platform Science has been certified since 2020,  is an important way to demonstrate our recognized best practices around data integrity, availability and confidentiality.”

The ISO 27001 certification sets the standard for creating and operating an Information Security Management System, such as telematics systems. It is designed to help companies be aware of the risks and weaknesses in their software to prevent security breaches. Platform Science received the designation after showing that it had a systematic and ongoing approach to managing sensitive company and customer information.
