FMCSA takes Safe ELD and MyLogs ELD off registry over compliance issues
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has removed two ELDs from its list of registered electronic logging devices: Safe ELD (iOS and Android) and MyLogs ELD.
FMCSA revoked the devices May 7 after determining the providers failed to meet minimum requirements outlined in 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.
Fleets using these revoked ELDs have 60 days to replace them with compliant devices. Beginning July 7, fleets that continue operating with the revoked ELDs will be considered noncompliant and operating without an ELD. Drivers found using the devices on or after that date may be placed out of service by enforcement officials.
If the providers correct the identified deficiencies, FMCSA said the devices could be restored to the list of registered ELDs.
FMCSA encouraged carriers to transition away from the revoked devices as soon as possible to avoid compliance issues if the deficiencies are not resolved.
“Since January 2025, FMCSA has taken decisive action—removing 67 noncompliant devices that failed to meet federal standards—to protect the integrity of the ELD program, and we will continue to identify and remove any device that falls short,” FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs stated.
