SureCam has launched its next multi-view dashcam, the SureCam Vantage. Able to provide 350-degree visibility around a vehicle, the camera system can offer up to six angles around a truck.

“A growing number of cities are implementing stricter Vision Zero and Direct Vision standards, requiring fleets to eliminate blind spots, improve situational awareness, and capture verifiable evidence of road incidents,” said John Weldon, president of SureCam. “SureCam Vantage represents the next generation of video telematics, which has been designed to help fleets meet these mandates while boosting driver safety and operational efficiency.”

The new dashcam works without a mobile digital video recorder, and can display views of the road, driver, side, rear, and cargo, plus an optional in-cab monitor for the driver. According to the company, the dashcam system will work well for vans, trucks, and specialist vehicles, particularly in urban environments.

Additionally, the dashcam can incorporate SureCam’s Driver Monitoring System (DMS) and ADAS to detect driver distraction, fatigue, and phone use inside the cab, and tailgating and collision threats outside of the cab. Then, it can provide in-cab alerts to help drivers self-correct.

All of the camera’s footage is automatically uploaded to SureCam’s cloud for easy event review, coaching opportunities, and analytic records. It is also compatible with Geotab, so fleets can leverage the company’s safety scoring and operational insights.
