Q: Do lubricating solids help extend kingpin life?
A: Absolutely. Lubricating solids like molybdenum disulfide (MOS2) and graphite provide protection during extreme shock loads. They are especially effective when sliding wear prevents hydrodynamic (oil film) lubrication from occurring. Selecting a waterproof, tackified grease with MOS2 and graphite will dramatically improve pin and bushing life. Steve studied Automotive Technology and Industrial Arts at Central Missouri State University. He was accredited at Harley-Davidson completing two separate training programs and scoring both classes highest marks.
Steve has an extensive background in the automotive field. During his 30 year career he has held every management position in automotive and truck dealerships. Steve is married and has two grown children.
His hobbies include hot rods and he is a Harley-Davidson enthusiast.
