Eaton launches two aftermarket drivetrain lubricants
Eaton will debut two new drivetrain lubricants at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW), including the Eaton EverTough transmission fluid and the XFE 75W-80 axle lubricant.
“As fleets extend vehicle life and focus more closely on operating value, the aftermarket needs solutions that balance performance, durability, and cost,” said Corneliu Bogdan, director, Aftermarket Sales, Eaton’s Mobility Group. “These new Eaton fluids strengthen our ability to support customers whether they’re running new equipment or keeping older vehicles on the road longer.”
The EverTough transmission fluid is a fully synthetic alternative for manual and automated transmissions working beyond OEM warranty windows and certain remanufactured applications. It can work with Eaton's PS-386 transmission fluid, and is good for manual transmissions across several makes and models. Its typical drain intervals range from 300,000 to 500,000 miles.
The company is looking ot market its new lubricants to indie service shops, rebuilders, and aftermarket distributors and fleets working with mixed-age vehicles, and EverTough is designed to serve older trucks as well.
Meanwhile, Eaton's XFE 75W-80 is a fully synthetic axle lubricant designed to help fleets improve their fuel efficiency and durability, especially for heavy-duty vehicles. Designed for linehaul and vocational operations, the XFE 75W-80 features an OE-approved formulation and can be used in axle applications under warranty. According to the company, Mesilla Valley Transportation Solutions found that the XFE 75W-80 provides up to 2% improvement in fuel economy compared to standard axle lubricants.
Both the Eaton EverTough transmission fluid and Eaton XFE 75W-80 axle lubricant are expected to be available to the market in Q1 2026.
