Challenger launches galvanized arms for two-post lifts

Challenger Lifts will offer optional galvanized arms for its CL10AV3 and CL12A two-post lift models.

For shops facing an abundnace of moisture, salt, and harsh chemicals in the bay, Challenger Lifts has introduced a galvanized arms option for its CL10AV3 and CL12A two-post lift models. The corrosion-resistant coating was designed to extend the lift's life and overall reduce shop costs.

“Repair facilities in many parts of the country face daily exposure to moisture, salt and other corrosive elements that can shorten the lifespan of critical equipment,” says Trevor Coleman, national sales manager for Challenger Lifts. “Our galvanized arms option gives customers a practical solution to combat those conditions while maintaining the reliability, safety and performance they expect from Challenger Lifts.”

The arms are coated with a zinc-iron alloy during the galvanizing process. Because of zinc's electro-chemical properties, a zinc patina is formed before the underlying metal would corrode.

Challenger notes the arms will be most effective "in regions where winter road treatments and high humidity can accelerate wear on traditional components."

Overall, the arms do not negatively impact "fit, strength or operational standards,” Coleman added, though, they do boost total cost of ownership.

“By helping reduce corrosion-related maintenance issues and extending component service life, the new option offers added long-term value for shop owners looking to protect their equipment investment,” he said.
