An economic approach to building a toolbox is to add bare tools. After purchasing a tool kit that includes batteries, automotive technicians can develop their collection when they add bare tools that work on a common battery platform. For example, Ingersoll Rand cordless automotive tools work on the same IQV20 Series platform. Technicians should also be sure the batteries they purchase are easily interchangeable and can last throughout many jobs during the workday.
